Powering systems
Stringent requirements for broadband HFC network quality are connected with the need of having a very reliable powering system for the equipment, working in the headend, and concentrators as well as powering systems for optical nodes and cable amplifiers. The cable TV network with such powering systems has many advantages because:
The modern architecture of HFC network powering in optical nodes makes possible to introduce remote powering sending via coaxial cables to the distribution networks and home/building installations.

- these systems improve signal quality in the network reducing noice and distortions introduced by the power plant and securing equal powering conditions for all devices;
- thanks to UPS devices the service quality is high even during a blackout;
- these systems allow continuous transmission during short voltage blackouts - a very importanf feature especially during bi-directional digital data transmission (data, telephony) where the time needed for rebooting/restarting devices after a blackout reduces service quality;
- the system which monitors the basic powering parameters reduces the time of troubleshooting.
