IPTV Systems
The definition of the IPTV system can be very wide and it can comprise various topics. However, saying "IPTV"" we mean the internet TV system where the subscriber can receive TV programs and services (e.g. Video on Demand) on his TV set connected to the IP network via the terminal called STB (Set Top Box).
A complete IPTV system dedicated for an operator consists of 6 main elements:

- IPTV headend - responsible for reception and distribution TV channels in the operator's network
- Middleware platform - responsible for IPTV system/user's interface management
- Conditional Access System (CAS) - a system responsible for encryption of the data sent in the IPTV network (e.g., TV channels) and for safe distribution of the content
- Video On Demand System - a system responsible for content providing on user's demand (e.g., virtual video shop)
- Content Management Solution - a special system for content management
- Set Top Box - user's terminals allowing content reception by a regular TV set
