ARRIS and VECTOR Expand Cooperation

Suwanee, GA - October, 7th 2009: ARRIS (Nasdaq: ARRS), one of the world’s leading providers of telecommunications technologies, and VECTOR, a European provider that specializes in supplying broadband solutions for European broadband operators, today announced that they are expanding their collaboration with the addition of the ARRIS optical solutions line to VECTOR’s solution sales suite.

VECTOR has represented ARRIS as a value-added reseller in the areas of DOCSIS-based high speed data and cable telephony for years, and is now expanding the portfolio of ARRIS solutions it sells, with the addition of the award winning ARRIS CHP Max™5000 Converged Headend Platform.

The CHP Max5000 is one of the most advanced Headend platforms available on the market, and enables operators to tap into new revenue streams such as business services or deliver more VOD, HD VOD and SDV without deploying any new fiber. Using the CHP suite of products, MSOs can expand their existing fiber capacity by up to 1600% in the downstream and upstream on as little as one fiber. Combined with the ARRIS Opti Max™ segmentable node product suite, it also provides an efficient and robust migration path to 4X4 node segmentation in support of advanced services. The CHP Max5000 and Opti Max node family support the award winning ARRIS CORWave™ and CORWave II multi wavelength transmitters and optical passives. CORWave platforms provide cable operators with the ability to add new services such as RFoG and EPON over their existing fiber infrastructure without changing their back office or billing system interfaces.
