Ellacoya’s e30 switch is a NEBS and ETSI compliant flow-based IP service control switch that provides broadband service providers visibility into the traffic on their networks, has the ability to shape and control that traffic on a per-application and per-subscriber basis, and enables new service offerings including VoIP and IPTV. Service providers place the e30 in access networks with each e30 serving up to 64,000 subscribers. The e30 is the only product in its category to use Intelligent Flow Management techniques (patent pending) to reuse individual flow table entries for multiple TCP and UDP connections on the network. This dramatically increases the effective capacity of the switch without any loss of subscriber- or application-level visibility and control. For core network placements, the e30 can manage traffic on a subnet basis with the ability to drill down to the subscriber level on subnets, giving providers maximum flexibility for placement in the network.
