- The digital SAT tuner selects the desired input frequency and supplies the I/Q - basis band components.
- The MPEG transport stream will be generated via the following I/Q demodulation, which will be supplied according to the valid DVB standards. The spectrum configuration(roll off, band limit) is realized by the digital filtration. The signal processing includes the automatic processing of the PSI and SI tables, which are defined in the MPEG and DVB standards.
- Especially a new cable specific network information table (NIT) will be produced which is necessary for the automatic tuning of receivers (e. g. set top boxes). The permanent communication of the individual transmodulators STB 607 (and their corresponding IF converters UCB 1x6) with the central control unit is necessary!
- The PID filtration enables the removing of single programs from the data stream. All components of the affected program will be automatically deleted and the affected tables (PAT, PMT, SDT) will be updated. The output symbol rate will be kept constant, independently from the input symbol rate, through the filling of the transport stream with null packets. At the same time the necessary correction of the time basis (PCR restamping) is taking place.
The SAT - TV transmodulator STB 607 is a module of the headend system B - Line, which is conceived as a complete system for middle sized distribution networks.
The STB 607 converts QPSK signals into QAM signals.
